OpusFoundry

Turn letter artwork into a working font.

Open your letters as an SVG. OpusFoundry finds each one, lines them up on a proper type grid, fills in what is missing, spaces them, and exports a font you can install. You see every change as a picture before it happens.

See it before it happens

Each fix is drawn as a before and after picture. Spacing, for example, shows your text with plain even gaps above and optical spacing below. Nothing changes your font until you press Apply, and you can undo any of it.

Kerning that you approve

Pairs like AV, To and Ty leave a hole that spacing alone cannot close. OpusFoundry measures the real gap, shows each pair now and with the change, and lets you apply or skip them one by one. Kerning is saved in both the OTF and the TTF.

A last look before you export

The final check looks at the whole font: baseline, x-height, cap height, ascenders, overshoot, stem weights, letters that sit off centre and pairs that touch. It points each one out and waits. Fix it, or accept it as it is. Nothing blocks export.

What it does

  • Finds every letter

Open SVG artwork and it spots each letter, including the i and j with their dots, and checks the count against what you expect.

  • Fits and aligns

Scales your letters to one cap height and x-height and lines every row up on its baseline. Round letters may overshoot a little, as in real fonts.

  • Fills the gaps

Builds missing punctuation, such as periods, commas, hyphens and brackets, from the stems and the i dot in your own artwork.

  • Spaces the letters

Gives each letter a gap based on its shape, so a T or V tucks in closer and an H keeps more room.

  • Kerns tricky pairs

Finds pairs such as AV and To that need tucking in, shows each one before and after, and writes the kerning into your fonts.

  • Checks the whole font

A final check for vertical and horizontal alignment. It points out issues and waits for you to fix or accept each one.

  • Cleans the outlines

Heals overlapping shapes, open paths and stray specks so the font draws cleanly at any size.

  • Exports OTF and TTF

Writes installable font files, and you can type with your font in the app before you save it.

  • Keeps your place

Save a project file with your artwork and every decision, and reopen it later to change your mind.

  • Works on your computer

Your artwork is never uploaded. No account, no tracking, no network calls.
